Deepika Padukone Bollywood Actress (pronounced [d̪iːpɪkaː pəɖʊkoːɳ]; born 5 January 1986) is an Indian film actress. One of the highest-paid actresses in the world, Padukone is the recipient of several awards, including three Filmfare Awards. She features in listings of the nation’s most popular and attractive personalities.Padukone, the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager she played badminton in national level championships, but left her career in the sport to become a fashion model. She soon received offers for film roles, and made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film Aishwarya.

Padukone then played a dual role in her first Bollywood release—the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om—and won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Early life and modelling career

Deepika Padukone was born on 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Konkani-speaking parents. Her father, Prakash, is a former badminton player of international repute, and her mother, Ujjala, is a travel agent. Deepika younger sister, Anisha, is a golfer. She paternal grandfather, Ramesh, was a secretary of the Mysore Badminton Association. The family relocated to Bangalore, India, when Padukone was a year old. She was educated at Bangalore’s Sophia High School, and completed her pre-university education at Mount Carmel College. She subsequently enrolled at the Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, but later quit it due to scheduling conflicts with her modelling career.

Acting career – Film debut and breakthrough (2006–09)

Padukone announced in 2006 that she would make her film debut with Aishwarya, a Kannada film directed by Indrajit Lankesh. The romantic comedy was a remake of the Telugu film Manmadhudu, and she was cast in the title role opposite the actor Upendra. The film proved a major commercial success. While in college, Padukone pursued a career in modelling. She was spotted in a ramp competition in NLS, Bangalore. Over the years, she has modelled for such Indian brand names as Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, and has been the “brand ambassador” for the Jewels of India retail jewellery show. The cosmetics company Maybelline made her its international spokesperson.

At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards she was awarded the title “Model of the Year”. Acting Part 1

Deepika got her formal acting training from the Anupam Kher School of Acting where she was one of the most dedicated students. After pursuing a successful career in modelling, Padukone branched out into acting. She started by starring in the music video for the song Naam Hai Tera from the independent pop album Aap Kaa Surroor by Himesh Reshammiya.

In 2006, Padukone made her cinematic debut in the Kannada film Aishwarya starring opposite actor Upendra. In March 2008, Padukone began dating Ranbir Kapoor, her co-star from the film Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008). The couple broke up in November 2009. She is currently in a relationship with Ranveer Singh. Later, she dated her co-star Ranveer Singh and on November 14, 2018, the couple tied the knot at Lake Como, Italy, in a traditional Konkani & Sindhi ceremony.
